holy city crop

1. Heaven is different from earth

Jesus said, “Lay up for yourself treasures in Heaven, where thieves do not break through nor steal. For where your treasure is there will your heart be also. Mat 6:20-21

2. This Heavenly City is the future abode of saints

Jesus said, “In My Father’s house, are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there you may be also. John14:2-3

3. Heaven, the Holy City of God, is the location of God’s throne.

IN THE CENTER of Paradise, the City of God, there is a majestic edifice of awe-inspiring dimensions, called the Most Holy Place, or Temple of Heaven. Inside this beautiful structure is the very Throne of God, characterized by a glorious rainbow.
(Ezekiel 1:26-28 …upon the likeness of the throne was the likeness as the appearance of a man above upon it. And I saw as the color of amber, as the appearance of fire round about … had brightness round about…as the appearance of the bow that is in the cloud in the day of rain, so was the appearance of the brightness round about. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the LORD…)

Isaiah had a vision of God’s throne, high and lifted up and His train (a glorious light came down and) filled the temple. (Isaiah 6:1) John saw souls under the altar that is before (in front of) the throne of God (Rev 8:3)
“The throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it….Rev 22:3

When Paul was on the Damascus road (Acts 26:13) he saw a light from Heaven above the brightness of the noonday sun. A Voice from this light said, “I Am Jesus.”    In Rev 21:23, we find that the glory of God is the light of Heaven. This means that the city of Heaven is brighter than the sun. It is another visible manifestation of God’s great glory. (Mat 17:2)

4. The Kingdom of Heaven is the place where saints will meet.

“The Lord…will preserve me unto His heavenly kingdom” (II Tim 4:18)
Jesus said, “…many will come from the east and west and sit down with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, in the kingdom of Heaven.” (Mat 8:11)
Jesus also said “Blessed are they who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake; for theirs is the kingdom of Heaven…rejoice and be exceeding glad (persecuted ones) for great is your reward in Heaven.” (Mat 5:10 & 12)
Jesus referred to Heaven and the kingdom of Heaven as the same place–the place of eternal glory and reward for those who have entered the spiritual kingdom of God while living on earth.

It is the City of Yahweh’s throne. It is the dwelling place of the Father and Son, the angels, the archangels, the cherubim, the seraphim, the departed saints, and the 24 elders. It is a spiritual yet literal place–very large, very bright, very beautiful and very exciting.

7 senses

by Oden Hetrick

You haven’t really lived until you have learned to use all of your seven senses.  These powers of perception and reception were given to Adam and Eve for their full enjoyment of Eden’s pleasures.

When Adam and Eve disobeyed God, they lost most of their ability to enjoy pleasure, and we, their descendants, are not fully aware of the abilities they lost. Our faculties will all be perfect in Heaven, but here on earth, even though we do not find perfection, we can learn the proper use of the seven senses we will use to enjoy the eternal delights of God’s House, the City of Heaven.

First, we find that the senses, see, hear, smell, touch and taste are not fully defined by the word  “physical”.  This is evident by the fact that a person can see what he is dreaming about while his physical eyes are closed in sleep.  Furthermore, by the spiritual nature of our soul (thoughts and imaginations), we can see, hear, feel, etc., without using the physical members of our body.

Genesis 2:7 says when God breathed into man he “became a living soul”.  Does a dead body have physical sense? No!  When death separates body and soul, the powers of spiritual senses go with the soul.

Five of the seven spiritual senses are called “physical” because they can, at certain times, be conducted by the body to the soul or spirit inside.  A glove conveys the sense of touch to the hand inside even though the glove without the hand is lifeless.  The powers of spiritual senses in reality, belong to the never-dying soul.

The senses you use while your body is senseless in sleep, are the same senses you will use when your body is senseless in death.  Let’s look at Luke 16.   The rich man died and his soul was in hell.  Yet he could feel the torment, could see and recognize Abraham.  Lazarus, who also died, and was in Abraham’s bosom, evidently had a finger that could touch.  Abraham could hear the rich man, and could talk to him.  The rich man also remembered (had knowledge) of his brothers on earth.

The other two spiritual senses that make up the seven, are little known because they operate between spirits and not through the physical body.  These two spiritual powers are obscure because they were almost lost when Adam and Eve lost fellowship with God and were put out of Eden.  For these reasons it is difficult to find names that fully explain these powers of sense, and it will require some thought to grasp their operations.

Putting the seven senses in order the first one is anticipation (premonition) also called desire, and foreknowledge.  This is the preparatory sense.  By it we receive the knowledge of what is going to happen so we can be prepared.  By this sense we also receive impulses from God to do good, like a good idea, or impulses from satan to do evil.   (Heb 5:14  “…those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.”)  Next in order are the five action senses, see, hear, smell, touch and taste, that may operate through the physical body.

The seventh sense is the power of perception, described by words like realize, become aware, understand, etc., by phrases like “it finally dawned on me,”  “I became conscious of the fact,”  etc., and by the term — mental telepathy.  This is the satisfaction sense.  It enables us to realize and enjoy reality.  This is the power of perception that in Heaven, allows us to know as we are known.  In I Corinthians 12:8 it is called “the word of knowledge”.

Now observe the operation of the seven senses in the following illustration.

Many people were invited to a banquet.  Some desired to go, but some refused.  Desire and anticipation were the mental preparation that made it possible for those attending the banquet to more fully enjoy the operation of their action senses.  After a delightful time at the banquet, seeing the smiling faces and lovely displays, hearing the soft music and friendly conversation, smelling the irresistible aroma of good food, tasting each delicious morsel, touching and feeling the festive spirit of the occasion, they returned home with the mental satisfaction of an evening well spent.  One couple was not at the banquet because unexpected friends dropped in.  Being mentally prepared for a banquet — not company — the evening brought no real satisfaction to this couple.

Disappointment is part of earthly sorrow, but it never enters Heaven.  For in Heaven the loving Spirit of God harmonizes all activities by placing His gentle commands on the minds of those present as preparatory desires.  These desires are always fulfilled by the expected activity, that in turn, always produces the mental satisfaction of reality realized.  (mental satisfaction of realizing and enjoying reality)

One final illustration: The Holy Spirit of God reveals a person’s lost condition by the Scriptures “all have sinned“,  and “the wages of sin is death”  (Romans 6)  This knowledge of being unfit for Heaven brings a real “premonition of doom”.  This warning causes those who are wise to make the necessary preparation for eternity.

Jesus is the only one who can bring joy and remove guilt, give peace in place of fear, and lead the way to Heaven.  But you must first respond by saying,  “Jesus, remove all disobedience from me, make me love right things, and lead me in the way everlasting.”  If you are sincere, the Spirit of God will give you joyful satisfaction of knowing His forgiveness and sensing His love.

Those who are not restored to fellowship with God are very susceptible to evil influences.  Satan attacks people through their spiritual senses by the psychic craze over ouija boards, spirit mediums and extra sensory perception (ESP).  “Extra” sensory refers to the senses beyond those commonly called physical.  These spiritual senses are not “extra,” they are an important part of all of us, but they need to be awakened by God in order for us to fellowship with Him here, and live in His eternal abode hereafter.

The Spirit of God imparts the reality of eternal life directly to the spirit of the sincere seeker by awaking his spiritual senses to know God.  (Rom 8:16  The spirit [of Yahweh/God] Himself bear witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God)  At this moment the believer becomes alive to spiritual things and is restored to fellowship with God.  In this new relationship the believer is able by the power of a renewed mind (awakened spiritual senses) to commune with God in spirit and in truth.  The only way our eternal spirit can commune with God is by our spiritual senses, not by the senses that operate through the physical body.

Satan has deluded many by psychic phenomena which prevents their worship of the Most High God/Yahweh.

But the hour is coming and now is, when the true worshipers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeks such to worship him.  God is Spirit, and they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth.”     John 4:23-24

statement of faith

1.  We believe in One God, the Everywhere Present, Invisible Spirit; Most Holy, Most High, and Most near, Almighty and Eternal; Maker, Sustainer and Ruler of all creatures and things, both seen and unseen; the Source of all goodness, beauty, truth and love.  He makes Himself visible on his Throne in the City of Heaven as Yehovah, (Yahweh) the heavenly Father of righteous, obedient saints.  Even so, the Heaven of heavens cannot contain Him.

2.  We believe Yeshua/Jesus the Messiah was the visible appearing on earth of our Invisible Spirit God, in a body of mortal flesh, born of a virgin, to shed Divine Blood that can wash away our sins.  In death, the Spirit left the body.  The body was buried, and the Spirit went to the place of departed spirits.  Then with the keys of hell and death, He led the righteous souls, including the penitent thief, to paradise.  The Spirit also raised, glorified, and re-entered the body of Jesus Christ, then went to Heaven, making the way for us to follow. Jesus Christ will return with the Father and take us to Heaven.

3.  We believe the Holy Spirit is God, One Everywhere Present Invisible Spirit, Who reveals Himself as Father in Heaven, and as Savior of man.  Although the Universe cannot contain Him, still He desires to dwell in His finite saints, to remind them of His teachings and instructions, in His Word, and of their salvation by Divine Blood.  He teaches, guides, comforts, inspires and empowers.  He respects obedience, but not persons.

4.  We believe sins are forgiven when a serious prayer of repentance and confession of sin is offered to God.  We Believe a true Christian will forsake sin, seek and obey God and follow Jesus to Heaven.

5.  We believe the Old and New Testaments are the preserved, correct and complete Word of God.  When studied and obeyed, God’s Word brings faith, righteousness, health, wisdom, knowledge and eternal life in God’s visible presence, with fullness of joy, and pleasures forevermore.

6.  We believe in the fellowship of saints, for encouragement and worship, and for instruction in righteousness and service, and for a witness to unbelievers.

7.  We Believe the Kingdom of God and of Heaven is a Celestial City where the Eternal Spirit reveals Himself as our Father in Heaven, sitting on a Throne, and as our glorified Savior, Friend and Elder Brother, Who sits at the Father’s right hand and also walks among His glorified saints.  From this Eternal Kingdom, God exercises Divine rule in all human society.  Those who want to see and enter this eternal kingdom must have received the free gift of salvation and have an indwelling of the Holy Spirit.

My Treasured Photo Album

by David Hetrick

A precious photo album have I, a favored book.
Every day I turn its pages to ponder and to look.
A portrait of my Savior unfolds on every leaf;
His eyes of compassion soothe away any grief.

His nail-pierced hands reach out and beckon me
His heart of loving kindness overwhelms my thirsty soul.
From beginning to end, a story is told
In rhyming hues and prints so bold.

ON THE VERY FIRST PAGE He is pictured with His Father
creating all things and building a world.
Later on He became one of us, a helpless human baby;
Yet see how his presence transforms a lowly stable.

Beyond all doubt, this is the most familiar of all reprints.
Then I see him as a child
in His adopted earthly father’s carpenter shop
Helping him build
but knowing His mission is to build the lives of men.

ON THIS PAGE He appears as a boy of twelve
obeying His Father in Heaven
and astounding the learned men of earth.

THIS SET OF THREE PRINTS is a wonderful display
of His endurance in temptation.

In #1 He pauses amid stones that appear as loaves of bread

In #2 on the dizzying height of the temple spire;

In #3 on a high mountain overlooking the world’s kingdoms
Not once did He yield.

What a comfort to know He is near when I am tried.

SEE HIM HERE as He walks on the water and calms the wind and waves.

How reassuring to know He is Master of every situation in my life.

THIS ONE always touches my heart.
See how He blesses the little children
as they eagerly press in around Him.
“Except you become as one of these…”  He said.
I like to picture myself as one of them.

AND HERE He is seen in His role as Good Shepherd
cradling a tiny lamb in His strong, gentle arms
safe and secure from all alarms.

THERE He communes with Moses and Elijah.
See how His face glows like the sun.

THESE TWO PRINTS display his mercy and forgiveness.
In this one by the side of the well
He convinces a woman of her sin.
In the other, He graciously pardons a woman
condemned by unjust men.

HERE He speaks to a crowd of 5000 or more
and nourishes them plentifully, body and soul.

ON THE NEXT PAGE a very solemn and tender scene
greets my sighing eye:
See the comforting angel who comes to strengthen Him
as He kneels in the garden with the burden of my sin
and the sins of all the world upon Him.

Then He is seen standing alone in the judgment hall—
no one to defend Him.
And oh, how my soul within me will cry
reviewing how He was condemned to die.

It breaks my heart to see Him grieving so;
To think it was for me He suffered shame and disgrace
at the hands of wicked men;
Yet He forgives — for I was one of them.

Even in the midst of agony and pain
His gracious invitation to Paradise is extended to a penitent thief.

THIS NEXT PICTURE is truly a postcard scene.
Such brilliant color!
It is Resurrection Morning!!  It is an empty tomb!
and a triumphant risen Lord!

Notice how the cross remaining there on the horizon has been
transformed into a glorious symbol of love and grace and life.

an immense panorama filling two whole pages.
Here He is with his entire family
all assembled together for this special portrait.

There is Yahweh/God, the Father
There’s Yahshua/Jesus, His faithful Son
And look at all the angels.
There are the saints of ages past, and here are many more
of just men made perfect
(but not just men — there are women too)

I can imagine that’s me there,
the tiny speck in the lower right corner.

See his eyes of flaming fire.
See His clothing of pure, shining, white light.
What a portrayal of perfect power!

Ultimately, I see Him enthroned with his Father
there in rainbow–encircled majestic grandeur.
As I gaze in awe, I hear Him say,  “You will sit with Me”.

Many more scenes I could describe as I close the book and sigh.
These are not mere memories of days gone by,
But true revelations of his love drawing nigh.

heavenly city

Yehovah told Moses to be sure to make the Tabernacle according to the pattern he was shown on the mountain. (Exodus 26:30)  The Tabernacle was designed with an OUTER COURT — HOLY PLACE — and MOST HOLY PLACE.  So then Heaven, being the true Tabernacle, (Heb 8:2)  must be the pattern and have the same design.  The Bible describes in Rev 21:16, a foursquare City, containing a HOLY PLACE  with a MOST HOLY PLACE, or Temple, (Rev 15:5-8) in the center.  Then somewhere there should be an OUTER COURT.

Surrounding the foursquare City is a wide outer expanse called suburbs, or borderlands.  John tells in Revelation that he was taken to a great and high mountain and shown the Holy City.  All around the outer edge of this area are high mountains with many peaks. (Psa 68:15, 16 & SoS 2:17)  These suburbs are very huge, making Heaven appear large and round, about the size of a planet, bigger than earth.  It has mountains, valleys, trees, flowers, River, animals, and is very much like earth.  But unlike earth, there is nothing here to corrupt. (Mat 6:19 & Rev 21:4, 27)

These suburbs are the first place everyone goes after their time on earth is done.  No one enters here who has not confessed and repented of sin and been washed in the blood of Yeshua/Jesus. (Heb 9:12; 10:19; Acts 4:12) When the angels gather them in, each person is placed within a group in different areas of this borderland.  The light seems to come from everywhere and it is like a soft, golden glow with no shadows.  This light is the glory of Yehovah.  (Rev 21:23)  As you take a deep breath, you will realize the air here is so pure, and so invigorating.

This is where we are taught the basic principles of immortal life, and begin to experience out new existence, when corruptible has put on incorruption, and mortal has put on immortality.  With our spirit having such freedom, and our senses being more acute, we feel so alive and full of energy.  As you take a step, you almost feel like you are floating, because you no longer have a heavy body of clay!!  Sometimes on earth we sigh with the Psalmist “O that I had wings like a dove then I would fly away and be at rest”  Well this is the land of perfect peace and rest!!  Another thing we realize when we arrive here is that our mental capacity seems to be increased.  We can still see, hear, smell, taste and touch, because those senses belong to the soul.  (see Luke 16:19-31)  As you look around, you will see that the landscape and colors all blend together in perfect beauty.  The music, the birds singing, and the sounds from the River all join in harmonious song.

Here we receive instructions about our Heavenly home.  We learn that the Spirit controls and harmonizes everything that happens in Heaven.  So if on earth we haven’t learned complete obedience to Yehovah’s gracious and loving Spirit, we must learn it here.  Even though our mental capacity is increased it is not true that we suddenly know everything when we get to Heaven, but we will find it very easy to understand and gain knowledge.  We do however know and recognize others, as they know and recognize us.  (I Cor 13:12)  While we are in this outer expanse, many of our friends and loved ones come from the City to welcome and visit us.  And we are welcome to eat fruit from the Tree to strengthen our spirit.

There is also the sparkling, crystal clear River.  You can just get your feet ‘wet’ or go in till it is all the way over your head and still breathe.  In Heaven there is no drowning!!  It is actually the flowing of the Spirit of Yehovah.  So it would be like breathing in the Holy Spirit.  Job 33:4 says “The Spirit of Yehovah has made me, and the breath of the Almighty has given me life.”  The River is one of the first places we go after we arrive here.  It washes away the earth thoughts and scars of sin from our spirits.  It helps to transform us by renewing our mind with the thoughts of Heaven. (Rom 12:2)  And speaking of thoughts — you can by taking thought go from place to place instantly.  Although sometimes it is more interesting to travel slowly, and enjoy the people and scenery.  And I will add that much communication is also done by thought.

But all of this beauty and peace is still just the lower level of glory in Heaven.  There are many people who, while on earth, had no time for spiritual things, such as where they would spend eternity, till they were dying, or near the end of their lives, when they became interested in salvation.  Yet Yehovah is so gracious, that if they truly repent, He fully forgives, and grants them everlasting life.  But their soul has had no time to grow, they have no treasure laid up in Heaven.  Arriving here they realize their loss, and some feel unworthy.  But the atmosphere of love and peace in Heaven, the fruit from the Tree of Life, and spending time in the River will strengthen their spirits, and in time allow them to enter more fully into the joys of Heaven.  The more we prepare ourselves on earth, by seeking Yehovah’s face and studying to show ourselves approved, the faster will be our advancement when we arrive in Heaven.

Set your affections on things above, not on things on the earth.  Col 3:2

crown of thorns

Isa 46:9 Remember the former things long past, for I AM God, and there is no other.  I AM God, and there is no one like Me.

The Most High, Everywhere Present, and Sovereign Eternal Spirit of Holiness is the One True God of the Bible.  He is present in Heaven, present on earth, and fills the universe, all at the same time.  He is one Majestic Deity.

John 4:24 God is a Spirit.
Psalm 139:7 Where could I go from Your Spirit?  Or where could I flee from Your Presence?
Jeremiah 23:24  … Do not I fill Heaven and earth?

It is because of His blinding, glorious brightness that He cannot be seen.  It is because He is unknowable that He must reveal Himself.

I Timothy 1:17  Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honor and glory for ever and ever.  Amen.
I Timothy 6:16  (King of  kings)  who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light that no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honor and power everlasting.
Ezekiel 20:5-9  Thus says Yehovah, “In the day when I chose Israel …. and made myself known to them in the land of Egypt, when I lifted up My hand …. to bring them forth from the land of Egypt, …. I acted for the sake of My name, that it should not be profaned in the sight of the nations …. in whose sight I made Myself known to them by bringing them out of the land of Egypt ….
John 14:21  He that hath My commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loves Me: and he that loves Me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
(see also Numbers 12:6 & Luke 2:15 & I John 1:5)

So to be known by mortal creatures of intelligence, He made for Himself:

1.  A knowable PLACE  (Heaven)  (Revelation 21:10 & John 14:2 & Matthew 5:19)
2.  An understandable NAME  (Yehovah or Yahweh) (Isa 12:2)
3.  A recognizable FORM  (Father/Son) (Philippians 2:6)

In the Bible God calls Himself One.  “There is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.”  I Timothy 2:5  “Hear O Israel, Yahweh our God….is One (echad).”  Deuteronomy 6:4.  While echad means one, it also includes a unity of oneness.  For example when a group of people agree together, it is said they are of one (echad) mind.  The disciples in the upper room were of one (echad) accord.

But when it comes to God, we are not talking about many gods being in unity,  we are talking about the many ways this one God reveals Himself to men(see Exodus 3:2 & Numbers 14:14 & Acts 2:2-4)

The most difficult thing for mortal man to understand about the One True Omnipresent God is His invisible, spiritual, Presence in every place at the same time, both in Heaven (the spiritual realm) and on Earth (the physical realm).  The Spirit should be understood as the Essence, the Substance, of the Almighty Invisible God.  Mortal men tend to compare the Most high God to physical men, both by their idols and their imaginations.  And they are blinded to any knowledge of the One True God by their multiple one-place-at-a-time god-persons.

But suppose we do want to know this One True Unknowable God.  Where do we begin our search?  We search the Bible.  There we find in Romans 1:20 that the visible things God created prove that there is an invisible Creator.  If we are to believe in the Invisible God, (Colossians 1:15) “…..we must believe that He is, and that He rewards those who diligently seek Him”  Hebrews 11:6  The Bible says faith comes by hearing the Word of God. (Romans 10:17)  So we will let the Bible give us the faith to believe in this One True God, Who is the Eternal Spirit, whom even the heaven of heavens cannot contain.  (II Chronicles 2:6)

Psalm 104:1-4  Yehovah …. Who covers Himself with light …. Who makes the clouds His chariots, Who walks on the wings of the wind, Who makes his angels spirits, His ministers a flaming fire.
John 4:24  God is a Spirit; and they that worship Him, must worship Him in spirit and truth.
Colossians 1:15  (Son) Who is the image of the invisible God ….

(see also Isaiah 66:1 & Hebrews 9:14)

Suppose you were endowed with brightness that blinded people.  How would you befriend them?  You would reduce your bright glory—and that is exactly what the Eternal Spirit did in order to appear on the Throne of Heaven visible to saints and angels.  Our Father in Heaven is not another god, or another spirit.  He is the Eternal Spirit Himself, appearing in reduced glory so He can be seen and known.  He is the One True God.  He can appear in more than one place at one time and still be only one God.

The knowable place then, is the Holy City of God, New Jerusalem, Heaven.  We need an eternal PLACE to go to when this mortal life is finished.  So Yehovah willingly condescended to a PLACE (Heaven), in FORMS known to us as the Father and the Son.  In His Throne of Heaven manifestation He gives Himself the knowable name of YHVH — Yehovah or Yahweh.

Hebrews 1:5  Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten Thee?  And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son?
Psalm 83:18  That men may know that Thou, whose name alone is Jehovah art the Most High over all the earth.
Isaiah 42:8  I am Yehovah, that is my name …
Isaiah 63:16 …. Thou, O Yehovah, art our Father, our Redeemer; Thy name is from everlasting.

(see also Exodus 24:9-11 & Psalm 68:4 & Isaiah 12:2 & Revelation 22:1, 3)

He has revealed Himself as Father and Son together from the beginning.  At creation the Father and Son were making man in their image (form, likeness). (Genesis 1:26)  The Son was in the form of God and did not think it robbery to be equal with God. (Philippians 2:6)  Daniel tells us that one like the Son of Man came to the Ancient of Days. (Daniel 7:13)

I John 1:3 …. and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with His Son Jesus Christ ….
John 1:1  In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

But the Eternal Spirit’s revelation continues; He must also reveal Himself to mortal beings on earth.  This He did by reducing his glory even further and making for Himself a special physical body. (Hebrews 10:5)  This body could not be corrupted in the grave, and this body contained blood that can still wash the sins from every humble, seeking soul.  In this earthly manifestation He called Himself Yeshua or Yahshua (God is Salvation).  The physical, earthly body of Yeshua/Jesus, a recognizable form, hides from many the revelation of His Divinity.  Colossians 2:9 tells us that in the Messiah (Christ) all the fullness of the Divine Nature was dwelling in bodily form.

Psalm 98:2 Yehovah has made known His salvation…
Isaiah 43:11 I, even I AM Yehovah; and besides Me there is no Savior.
Colossians 1:15 (Son) … the image of the invisible God.
Hebrews 1:1-3 God ….. in these last days spoke to us by His Son ….. brightness of His glory, express (perfect) image of His nature, upholding all things by the word of His power.
Hebrews 9:14 …. the blood of Messiah (Christ), who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself …
(see also Genesis 22:8 & Matthew 1:23 & II Timothy 1:9, 10 & I Peter 1:18-20)

So the Eternal Almighty Spirit is the same Spirit Who revealed Himself as Father in Heaven, and the same Spirit Who visited Earth in a body. He was Father in Heaven and Son on earth at the same time. While Yeshua was on earth He talked about, and prayed to His Father who was in Heaven, and said many times they were one. (two manifestations of one Spirit)

Matthew 5:16 Father who is in Heaven — 6:1, 9, 14 & 12:50 & 16:17 & 23:9
Matthew 10:20 Spirit of your Father that speaketh …
John 5:23 All men should honor the Son, even as they honor the Father. He who honors not the Son honors not the Father Who sent Him.
2 Corinthians 5:19 …. and God (the Spirit) was in Messiah (Christ) reconciling (restoring) the world to Himself.
I Timothy 3:16 Yehovah/God was manifest in the flesh …

But the story did not end there.  This same Eternal Spirit reduced his glory even further to live in His saints.  Now “if that same Spirit  who raised Christ from the dead dwell in you, He shall quicken your mortal body”.  Romans 8:11

John 14: 20, 23 At that day you shall know that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you … .. If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come to him, and make our abode with him.
I Corinthians 3:16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?
Colossians 1:26-27 Even the mystery that has been hid from ages and generations, but now is made manifest to his saints, …. that is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

There was a time on the Mount of Transfiguration when the Eternal Spirit revealed his glory through Yeshua/Jesus is a reduced brightness that still allowed the disciples to see Yeshua/Jesus. (Matthew 17:1-2)  But normally Yeshua walked among men as an ordinary man.  The purpose of God’s manifestation on earth as the Son was to make it possible for mankind to dwell with God in the City of Heaven, and enjoy His Presence.  (Revelation 22:3-4 & Psalm 16:11)  And there, our glorified bodies will shine as Yeshua did on the Mount of Transfiguration.

This shows that the Eternal Spirit in reducing amounts of glory is revealed in the Father and in the Son, and in the saints.  The Eternal Spirit is not a third-rate-human-like-god-person.  He is the Only True God, as described in the beginning of this articleThere is no other Most High God.  Colossians 1:15 and I Timothy 1:17 tell us He is invisible.  Since we cannot comprehend God the Spirit, He has given us a Father and Son concept of Himself.  As we have said, He reduced his glory to be seen in Heaven in form like a man.  But it is really we who are like the Father, not the Father like us.  And in order to look like God we must have true holiness.

Lev 20:7 Sanctify yourselves therefore and be holy: for I AM Yehovah your God.
Rom 12:1 I beseech you, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, that is your reasonable service.

The Eternal Spirit also revealed Himself as a flame of fire in a burning bush to Moses, as a pillar of fire to the Israelites in the desert, and as a whirlwind to Job, as a dove when Yeshua was baptized, as tongues of fire on the day of Pentecost, and as a blinding light to St Paul on the Damascus road. The glory that the Eternal Spirit reveals in His manifestation as Father and Son in Heaven, gives light to the whole City. He also appears as the River that flows through the City, and as the fruit on the Tree of Life that bears twelve manner of fruits.  “O taste and see that Yehovah, (the Eternal Spirit) is good.” Psalm 34:8

God is a Spirit.  (John 4:24)  Do not be satisfied with physical ideas of God.  We have a real and eternal inheritance in Heaven.  See you there!
